Join St. Vrain Anglers TU as renowned photographer and author Stephen Collector shares his insights on why individuals feel drawn to the outdoors and why this call is difficult to define.
Stephen Collector was born in Virginia in 1951. He attended college at George Washington University and earned a degree in English literature from the University of Colorado in 1973. He has lived in Colorado since 1971 and began his career as a freelance photographer in 1975, largely teaching himself. In 1992 the book, Law of the Range: Portraits of Old-Time Brand Inspectors was published by Clark City Press, Livingston, Montana. Collector has freelanced for a number of magazines and periodicals, among them: Esquire, Men’s Journal, German Geo, The New York Times, Outside, Outdoor Life, Field & Stream, Sports Afield, and TU Magazine.
His feature writing has appeared in The Drake, Anglers Journal, American Angler, The
Big Sky Journal, Tail Fly Fishing, Strung, Southwest Fly Fishing, and Grays Sporting
Journal. Collector is a lifelong sportsman.
