This is the second of 3 summer / fall Fish 'n Hike events hosted by Boulder Flycasters Chapter of Trout Unlimited. This is NOT a guided fishing trip! This is often called a "fish-along" trip. There will be a limit of 12 available slots for each trip. You must be ticketed (free) as described in this post. You do not need to be a Trout Unlimited member to join us.
We hike to different high altitude lakes, fish for the day, sometimes take water quality readings, and have a tail-gate at the end of the day. We will organize the outing, but you are responsible for all hiking and fishing gear, fishing licenses, clothing, food, water, etc. Be perpared for a moderately difficult hike. All levels of fly-fishing anglers (except "never-evers") are welcome. You should be somewhat experienced with fly-fishing techniques and been on the water fly-fishing in the past.
We will meet early in the morning in Boulder to arrange car pooling to the selected location(s). Locations will typically be high altitude lakes in the Indian Peaks Wilderness or nearby. If the snow pack prevents a high altitude hike, we will divert to a lower elevation option. This might especially happen in June. Once we know the number of people signed up (by registering on this site for a free ticket), we will send you all the specifics for meeting in Boulder and which specific hike / lake(s) we will be headed for that day.
