Big Clinch River Clean up

This is our annual event to clean up the Clinch River from Miller Island to Peach Orchard. We will have volunteers in the water, along road ways and wade teams collecting trash. Register at our website, crctu.org for the following teams: wade team, kayak team or roadside team. If you have a drift boat or other river type boat that you would like to bring to help collect bags from the kayak team and deliver to the ramp at Peach Orchard you can register to do that.  Anderson County will provide a truck to remove all the bags of trash collected. It is great to report that the number of bags of trash has gone down in recent years.
We will meet at the Museum of Appalachia between 7:30 am and 8:00 am to sign in. We will provide a full breakfast, followed by team assignments and head to the river by 9:00 am.  TVA provides a special water release schedule for our event and we must have all trash to the Peach Orchard boat ramp by 1:00 pm. After the clean up, visit the Clinch River Brewing Co. for lunch and present you name tag and receive your first beverage free. The first 50 volunteers to register will receive a great long sleeve t-shirt!
