Details:  Through the work of Lisa Merrill, we have been connected with Ryan Bennett, owner of the Ben Franklin Mine.  The area around the mine has been remediated to mitigate runoff of compromised water from the tailings.  There is an area that is considered ripe for willow propagation and Ryan has welcomed the help from Five Rivers Chapter.  Further, the stabbing of willow cuttings has met with the approval of the EPA vis-à-vis the Bonita Peak Mining District Superfund effort.

The plan is to meet at the Visitor Center at the entrance to Silverton at 9am on Saturday, Oct. 1, and convoy to the site.  It is definitely a 4-wheel drive road but not extreme by any means.  Bring gloves and loppers, if you have them, lunch, plenty of water and beverage of choice.
