Are you interested in learning about hunting, fishing, backpacking, birding, kayaking and more in an encouraging and supportive environment?
Registration is now open for Becoming an Outdoors Woman Michigan (BOW), a three-day hands-on workshop in Michigan's Upper Peninsula designed to offer beginners an introduction to a variety of outdoor activities and skills.
We are excited to be offering an Intro to Fly Fishing, a fun and interactive launch to the sport of fly fishing, tailor-made for women. Learn from friendly instructors how to choose proper equipment, tie knots, cast a fly rod, identify and select the proper fly, and other useful tactics for the beginner angler.
This workshop, sponsored by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, will take place June 2-4th at Bay Cliff Health Camp in Marquette County and will offer instruction in more than twenty-five different types of activities. The $300 registration fee includes all food and lodging, as well as most equipment and supplies. The deadline for registration is May 19.
