On Friday May 2nd, Canandaigua Lake TU will be assisting the New York DEC with the fourth and final trout stocking of the Cohocton River and need volunteers. Once again, we will be meeting the hatchery trucks at the Mountain View Inn in Atlanta NY (near North Cohocton) at 9am. We will be spreading about 3500 one- and two-year-old brown trout throughout the river.
The fourth stocking usually has the best weather, but we often have the fewest volunteers, so we would appreciate any help we can get. This would be a great opportunity to learn the access points on the river and to 'educate' the recent arrivals. We also like to use the opportunity to clean up roadside trash, so bring some garbage bags with you.
