Details
CPW and CO Trout Unlimited need your help in planting willow cuttings along the Arkansas River below City Park. There are several areas of exposed stream bank that will greatly benefit from establishing willows.
We will meet at 8am at the upper Osprey parking area off Rock Canyon Rd. Go past Anticline Pond and up and over the hill to the parking area. Waders and boots are not required but are helpful. We recommend you wear sturdy boots, jeans/work pants and bring a pair of gloves. Eye protection/sunglasses are also recommend. If you happen to own a "trench" shovel, which has a long, narrow blade, please bring it. Proper planting instructions will be provided along with necessary tools.
This is grassroots habitat conservation at its core! With a good turnout of volunteers we should be able to plant all cuttings in two or three hours.
