Arkansas Tailwater Willow Planting Project, April 18th

CPW and Trout Unlimited need your help in planting willow cuttings along the Arkansas River below City Park. There are several areas of exposed streambank that will greatly benefit from establishing willows. Tentative meeting location is at the dirt parking lot on the SE corner of Pueblo Blvd and W 11th Street and car pool to the work site.  Waders and boots are not required but are helpful.  We recommend you wear sturdy boots, jeans/work pants and bring a pair of gloves.  Eye protection/sunglasses are also recommend.  If you happen to own a "trench" shovel, which has a long, narrow blade, please bring it.  Proper planting instructions will be provided along with necessary tools.  This is grassroots habitat conservation at its core!  With a good turnout of volunteers we should be able to plant all cuttings in two or three hours.
