Starting from the East Portal TH it's roughly a 3.2mi (6.4mi RT) hike to Forest Lakes with ~1,532' elevation gain along the way.

For those who want to carpool, plan to meet in Boulder around 5:30am. For those meeting at the TH, plan to arrive at East Portal no later than 6:15am. Cell service at the TH is spotty. A light lunch will be provided after the hike.

Pack you fly rod and favorite lake flies, plenty of water and a trail snack.
