Stream Cleanup at 500 N Salt Creek Access

We’re excited to announce our next cleanup event, and this one gives us a great chance to make an even bigger impact on our local waterways!

Join us at the 500 N Salt Creek Access as we continue working to restore and protect our streams through hands-on community cleanup efforts.

Special Opportunity:
Thanks to the support of The Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County, any tires removed during this cleanup will be accepted at their One Stop Drop collection event. They have also generously allowed us to bypass the normal resident-only 4 tire limit because of this organized stream cleanup.

This gives us an incredible opportunity to remove tires and larger debris that often remain in waterways for years.

Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

We’re looking for volunteers to help clean up trash and debris, as well as anyone with a truck or trailer who may be willing to help transport collected tires to the Porter County Expo Center immediately following the cleanup.

We’re also grateful for any donations of bottled water, sports drinks, gloves, grabbers, rakes, shovels, buckets, hand sanitizer, wipes, or snacks for volunteers. If you’d like to contribute but can’t attend, please send us a message!

Whether you can stay the whole time or stop by for a bit, all help is appreciated.

Please wear weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes or boots, and bring gloves if you have them.
