2023 Cumberland River Rendezvous
Bluegrass Trout Unlimited and the Trout Haus are hosting a Cumberland River Rendezvous on September 23, 2023. We are excited to be sharing the awesome aspects of this great local resource. The Cumberland is a tailwater and therefore due to controlled water temperatures is one of Kentucky’s only viable year-round trout fisheries. To showcase the river, we’ve invited local guides to bring out their boats, talk about the river, and share stories! There will be free food for anyone who attends, and guests may BYOB. We will be hosting a casting contest and have door prizes thanks to the support of Orvis of Louisville. Guests are encouraged to bring their vices and materials down and tie a few bugs at our tying table. The BGTU volunteers and guides will also be fielding questions from anyone ranging from what types of insect life and hatches one can expect on the Cumberland, to how to properly prepare for a wading trip around the generation schedule.
The event is from 3:30 pm-6:30 pm (Central Time) but feel free to come out whenever during that time frame. We are asking people to RSVP through the ticket link below in order to ensure a parking space, and so we have an idea of attendance. The Trout Haus has a spacious lawn and this is an event for anyone of any age who is interested in the Cumberland River or fly fishing in general.
Leashed and well-behaved pets are allowed. For questions, or concerns, or if you’d like to volunteer at this event please email bgtu.478@gmail.com or reach out through direct message on Instagram and Facebook.
We look forward to seeing you there!
