The Reed Gillespie Chapter of TU has been gifted a significant quantity of quality fly tying materials and tools with the desire that these items be used to teach young and old how to tie flies. Included in this auction are items we are selling to raise funds to support informal lessons and organized classes planned by the Reed Gillespie Chapter for this winter.
Informal lessons are planned to be provided at the Broken Horn Brew Pub, McCall on Sundays afternoons, 3:00 to 5:30. These sessions are open to anyone and are conducted in an area where children are welcome. All tools and materials are provided and these sessions are on a first come first serve basis and no previous tying experience needed. We will be taking a break from these classes during the holidays and possibly during winter carnival. Organized classes are being planned through the Winter Cabin Fever programs sponsored by the McCall Arts and Humanities Council, mccallarts.org/programs/cabin-fever. In addition, we are planning a class to be conducted in Cascade toward the end of January or early February that will focus on tying bloodworm patterns that the perch of Lake Cascade feed on towards the end of winter. Watch for information related to this class coming out in January.
Thank you for supporting the programs of the Reed Gillespie Chapter. Please use the contact form below to learn more about the programs or joining our TU chapter.
