October Chapter Meeting –

             50 Elm St, Auburn, MA 01501

The Central Massachusetts Trout Unlimited chapter meets the second Thursday of each month, September through May, at the Auburn Sportsman's Club (50 Elm Street, Auburn, MA). Meetings run from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. They are free, open to all ages, and include complimentary pizza. The chapter gathering is free to attend and open to all, regardless of whether you are a Trout Unlimited member or not.

Adam Kautza, Coldwater Fisheries Project Leader of Mass Fish and Wildlife, members of the Nashua River Watershed Association, and our chapter members conducted a fish survey on the Whitman River in Ashburnham in late August. The survey was done approximately one year after a dam was removed from the river.

The October meeting will feature Dave Fox, who will be teaching us techniques and offering tips on streamer fly construction. We will provide vises, tools, and materials. You can also bring your own gear, if you would like.

Joe Gould, Restoration Specialist Project Manager MA Division of Ecological Restoration, will present at our December 10th meeting. Joe’s presentation will be on a dam removal project on Chicopee Brook in Monson, MA. In addition, we will be looking for volunteers to assist in tree plantings along the brook where the dam was taken down. Tentative dates are April 10th or 24th, 2027. More information to follow.
