Chili cookoff will begin shortly after 5:00 pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring a crock of their favorite chili, or just enjoy some of the best chili they have ever tasted and help us select "Best in Class" for this season. We'll also take some time to"catch up" with each other and to meet new members and guests. The meeting will be called to order at 6:00 pm when new members and guests are introduced and chapter business updates are discussed. Our guest speaker will be introduced at 6:30 pm and we normally adjourn by 7:45 pm. Water and coffee is provided, and the Elks full service bar is open until 7:00 pm.
Our guest speaker -
We are pleased to welcome Joe Swaluk, a member of Cape Cod TU. Joe is a professional artist with over 40 years of experience creating wood sculptures of fish. As a TU member since its inception, and harboring a great love for trout and salmon, they have been a major subject of his creations. He has a fascinating story to tell about how he combined his love of fishing and art in a unique way.
Joe has been fortunate to travel the world to study his subject and is confident he will be able to teach everyone something about our favorite fish.
He is a signature member of The Society of Animal Artists and Artists for Conservation. His work has been displayed on a national level, and resides in may private collections.
The public is welcome to attend this event. Please contact Glenn at tu225president@gmail.com in advance.
