With the influx of funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, many chapters and councils are finding opportunities to apply for federal grants to support coldwater conservation projects locally. The upside of these opportunities can be significant. However, the process can be fraught with pitfalls and compliance issues that can make or break your project idea and put at risk not only your chapter, but the entire organization.

TU’s General Counsel, Steven King; Procurement and Compliance Manager, DJ Hale; Volunteer Governance and Reporting Manager, Q Collins; and Jim Hughey, Chief Financial Officer, will spend an hour reviewing some of the common pitfalls and compliance standards necessary with large federal grants, followed by a half-hour facilitated roundtable discussion about the ins and outs of what applying for or managing a federal grant involves for your chapter or council.
