GBTU Chapter Meeting at Concord Outfitters with author Doug Lyons - Rescheduled to Tuesday Sept 26

Join GBTU board members and supporters for our September chapter meeting at Concord Outfitters.  Our speaker is Author Doug Lyons who's book Fly Fishing Guide to the Battenkill was published this month.  In his book, Doug covers the fishing access, hatches, patterns, and strategies for both the Vermont and New York stretches of the river, as well as its major tributaries, including both its East and West Branches near Dorset and Roaring Branch, Green River, and Bromley Brook.

Doug Lyons is a board member of the Battenkill Watershed Alliance and part of an ad hoc advisory group helping to guide the activities of the Trout Unlimited Battenkill Home Rivers Initiative, which he helped launch.  He was the the vice president and president of the Southwestern Vermont Chapter of Trout Unlimited in the mid 2000's, where he helped fundraise for initial habitat restoration efforts on the Battenkill.  He has written for the Manchester Journal, the Orvis.com fly fishing blog, and Upcountry magazine.  He presents to angling and conservation related groups on topics related to the Battenkill.  He splits his time with his wife and dog Roscoe between Maynard, Massachusetts and Shushan, New York.  

Doug can be heard on the popular Tom Rosenbauer podcast (Orvis fly fishing blog).  The air date for Doug's appearance is September 18, 2023.
