Spend a fun, FREE and impactful weekend in the Adirondacks from Friday through Sunday, April 26-28 as we work together to restore the Boquet River, and come together as a community to enjoy the incredible natural resources of the region.

Can't make the entire weekend? We'd welcome your support volunteering for the tree planting on Saturday - bring friends and family to pitch in!

Thanks to support from the Arbor Day Foundation and Verizon Wireless, we will be planting over 1,000 native trees and shrubs along more than a half-mile of the Boquet River, a Lake Champlain tributary. Even better, we're covering the cost of cabin lodging for volunteers who join us for the full weekend at the nearby Twin Valleys Outdoor Education Center where we will host all participants for free meals, fun evenings by a bonfire, all meals on work days and more. It's a great chance to make a difference for a local river, meet people who share your passion for conservation, and sneak in some great early seson trout fishing in a beautiful place as well!

TU has teamed up with the Lake Champlain Chapter of Trout Unlimited, BRASS (Boquet River Association) and the Essex County Soil & Water Conservation District, for this event and we will have a proper Arbor Day celebration with all the planting equipment on site, ready for you to join us!

Weekend Schedule - Join Us When You Can for As Long As You Can!

Friday April 26th- We'll get started at 9 AM by planting the Pratt property with 150 native trees and 100 willow stakes. That afternoon we'll add another 150 native trees to the Hainer property downstream. Free lunch will be provided to all volunteers and all will be invited to join in that evenings dinner and activities.

Saturday April 27th- the main plating day, breakfast and coffee will be offered at 8.a.m. followed by planting more than 650 native trees and 200 willow stakes on the Pierce property. Once the planting is complete, we'll grab a bite to eat with a great outdoor social at SUNY Plattsburgh's Twin Valleys Outdoor Education Center! All are welcome to stay the night for free.

Sunday, April 28th - Rain date for planting in case we need some extra time to get 1,000 trees in the ground!

Details, directions, lodging information and gear and equipment needs will be shared with all registrants closer to the event date.
