Boulder Flycasters and Arbor Anglers will be sponsoring a stream clean-up on the upper stretch of Boulder Creek on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 9 AM to noon. Everyone will meet at the parking area located approximately 1/10th of a mile upstream of the tunnel on Boulder Canyon Drive. The parking area is the first parking spot on the stream side of the road upstream of the tunnel. This is the parking lot which has the Boulder Flycasters Commemorative Plaque. We will make sure the sign-in area will be easy to identify from the road.
After signing in, we will ask the volunteers to drive to pre-selected pull outs/fishing areas. After cleaning up their assigned spots, volunteers will be able to leave their trash bags in the parking area or in the trash containers at Eben G. Fine Park in Boulder. We will make sure the major fishing spots and parking areas are cleaned up, especially the Roger Grove fishing area which is located approximately 6 miles upstream of the sign-in area.
We will supply nitrile gloves, trash bags, trash grabbers as well as coffee, water, and snacks. If possible, please bring waders. There should be plenty of time to catch the afternoon hatch after the event so be sure to bring your fishing gear!
